1.   1. The Yellow-eared Parrot inhabits the cloud forests, sub-Andean and Andean in the north of South America. This bird most of the time is associated with the wax palms which are very important for them because of many things like for example for rest (they use the alive palms for sleep and the dead ones to nest) and also they use them for eat. In Colombia we can find this specie in the central mountain range, in the departments of Antioquia, Cauca, Caldas, Huila, Tolima, Quindio, Valle, Cundinamarca, Risaralda and in the North of Santander. This specie is also used in the Ecuador. This bird feeds on the fruits of different wax palms like for example with their bark and seeds. In their behavior we can see that they do migratory movements  apparently not specified and seasonal but this movements may be because of the hunt. This birds have different movements when they are looking for food and they reproduce depending on the existence of the wax palms, their reproduction can be singly or in colonies. Couples can use a nest for up to five months, and the same palm can accommodate different breeding pairs consecutively, the pairs can reproduce 2 times each year and they are monogamous and have multiple copulations community, for up to five couples in the same tree, they fly like a small macaw and their physical appearance is: The dorsal and forehead color is green, “the cheeks and ear region are yellow, in the latter area are long hedges forming a "pin". The central portion of the throat and other lower parts are yellowish green, the tail is long, acute, reddish ventral face. The head is proportionally large, with very robust and black beak, the periocular region is grayish, the shanks and toes gray and orange iris”.

2). The yellow ear parrot is very important for the reproduction chain of the wax palm, because he disperse the seeds of the palm, this increased the reproduction of the palm because this is also endangered and it can be only find in the central mountains of Colombia.

3) .  This Specie is having big problems of conservation (hunt, deforestation, the nest poaching and the felling of the wax palm), this problems are categorized as Critically Endangered globally and nationally. The people are cutting the wax palms for different reasons like for example for doing the celebrations of eastern week (“Semana Santa”) or for doing houses with this material, this is a big problem for the Yellow-eared Parrot because like we already said they reproduce, eat and rest with this palm. The hunt is also a very important problem because this specie is being disappeared also because of this and this is because of us and because of our actions. If we do not take urgent action the large wax palms patches would disappear over time and this will prevent the reproduction of the Yellow-eared Parrot last survivor, this cannot happen because of our actions many beautiful species have gone and I am  sure that we do not want that this happen again and with this spectacular specie like the Yellow-eared Parrot is.

4) In 2004 a proposal is made from proaves foundation in which they promote the conservation of the parrot and of the wax palm. another thing that government and entities have make to promote the conservation of these species is that in some places in the department of antioquia especially in yarumal, have been found places with wax palm and have been named natural reserves so this protect them from being logged so the parrot have these zones. Another strategy is the one that private entities and government are doing is to plant dense zones of wax palm so parrots can live there, and promote the culture of planting these palm and the conservation the same one, and also the conservation of the bird, not to hunt it, kill it or keep it.

5). The people want to create reserves in “Alto Ventanas”. Also they are making investigations and preserving the habitat, they are improving the conditions of the habitat were the Yelllow-eared parrot lives and getting to know better the species so they can know more about the conditions of the species to survive.

6).The government should prevent the logging of the wax palm because they are very important for the yellow ear parrot, they also should make illegal the haunt of the specie and create some kind of reserves for the remaining species to prevent that those remaining doesn’t die

Conclusion: Our conclution is that the readers agree that the tradition of the eastern week should change, because the wax palm is been used for the sunday of eastern week, that another posibilitie should be used, and that is what is happening, people are using flowers instead of was palm.
